Second Round 

#7 Saint Joseph’s 71 #10 George Mason 43 – The Hawks guard combination of Natasha Cloud and Ciara Andrews scored 14 points each in the quarterfinal round victory.  Saint Joe’s held a 36 – 25 lead at intermission, then put the defensive clamps on George Mason holding the Patriots to 7 of 24 shooting (29.2%) in the second half.  SJU outscored GMU 35 – 18 in the second half.  The Hawks had a 16 – 6 advantage in points off turnovers.  Saint Joseph’s out rebounded George Mason by a 42 – 32 margin.  Chelsea Woods took down 12 rebounds for the Hawks who will advance to a quarterfinal round match against the second seeded Dayton Flyers.

#6 Rhode Island 65 #11 La Salle 60 – The Explorers held the lead throughout the second half, but three-pointer by the Rams Sydney Lewis with 7:50 to play gave URI a 42 – 39.  The basket started a run of eight straight points by the Rams over the next minute.   The Explorers answered taking a 52 – 51 lead on a three-point play by Micahya Owens at the 4:04 mark.  The game went back and forth.  Siobhan Beslow gave La Salle a one-point lead at 58 – 57 with just over a minute to play.  The Rams closed the game on a 7 – 2 run and will advance to the quarterfinal round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament.  URI will play the third seeded Duquesne Dukes. Owens led La Salle with 19 points and Beslow added 10.  Jasmine Alston was the other Explorer play scoring in double figures with 11.  Charise Wilson led Rhode Island with a game-high 23 points.  La Salle made only 1 of 8 from beyond the arc while Rhode Island made 6 of 12.  The Explorers forced 17 turnovers and had a 23 – 15 edge in points off turnovers.  La Salle ends the season with a 15 – 16 record.
