“We trust him out there in situations and he’s gaining our trust even more by knocking out free throws and making big baskets like he did down the stretch.” Cummings said about the freshman Enechionyia.

Quenton DeCosey added 14 points for Temple and Jesse Morgan contributed 13 points.

All five starters for Memphis scored in double figures.  Trahson Burrell led the Tigers with 16 points and Shaq Goodwin scored 15 points and added 9 rebounds.

The victory was win number 500 for Coach Fran Dunphy.

“Well, as far as the 500, then we don’t have to talk about it anymore, that’s a good thing.” said Dunphy.   “I’ve been coaching a long time, so obviously I’ve had great people on whatever staff I’ve had, we’ve had some really good players and I’m just, you know, really happy for this group today that we could survive and move on and get this win.”
