Rhule 2015RELEASE FROM TEMPLE UNIVERSITY

Temple Owls’ head coach Matt Rhule has been named to the American Heart Association Paul “Bear” Bryant Coach of the Year Awards watch list.

Rhule has led the Owls to a 6-0 start, the best start in program history. Temple is ranked #22 in the Associated Pres Poll and #24 in the USA Today Amway Coaches Poll – the first time that the university has been ranked in 36 years.

This honor, presented by Marathon Oil Corporation, goes to the best coach in the FBS, as determined by the National Sportswriters and Sportscaster Association. The award will be presented in Houston on January 13th, 2016. It’s the only national coaching award that factors in bowl game performance. Rhule is one of 22 named to the watch list.
