Hawks Win Game Two At CRC Rugby Sevens Pool Round

CHESTER, PA. 6/4/2016 – The Hawks of Saint Joseph’s won their second game in Pool C competition at the CRC Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Sevens Championships at Talen Energy Stadium 25 – 5 over the Cadets of Army.  It was also the second win over a service academy squad as SJU defeated Navy earlier in the day.

Once again Saint Joseph’s made it a come from behind effort as Army scored the first try of the game on a run by Vinny Raimondi.  SJU answered by scoring five straight tries.  Chris Curcio got Saint Joe’s started followed by a score by Aram Keshgegian to take a 10 – 5 lead into halftime.

The Hawks scored three more times in the latter half.  Jimmy Wolfer started the half by getting a try.  Tyler Kelly made it 20 – 5 off a steal, then Curcio ended the scoring behind his second try of the game.

Neither team was successful on a conversion.

Saint Joseph’s is 2- 0 going into the late afternoon match against Arizona.  Army stands at 0 – 2.
