Tough Opening Day For Temple At Collegiate Rugby Championships

CHESTER, PA. 6/3/2017 – It was a difficult opening day for the Temple Owls at the Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championships at Talen Energy Stadium in Chester.  The Owls dropped three games in pool play and will compete in Bowl Championship play on Sunday.

Temple was grouped with Dartmouth, Saint Mary’s College, and Boston College in Pool A. The Owls were defeated in the three games and were not able to score a try.  Temple started the day losing 29 – 0 to Dartmouth, then fell to Saint Mary’s 41 – 0, and concluded the day  losing 24 – 0 to Boston College.

Competitors for the Owls in Bowl play is still to be determined.  The Collegiate Rugby Championships will be a single elimination format for Sunday games.
