The Temple Owls got only one shot on goal and made it count defeating the University of South Florida Bulls 1 – 0, and earned a spot on the American Athletic Conference semifinal round as the four seed.
Joonas Jokinen scored the game winner in the 53rd minute off a corner kick by Divin Fula Luzolo. Jokinen headed the ball into the net. Owls goalie Michael Samnick made four saves in the win.
The Cherry and White will travel to Dallas for the conference tournament. They will meet the top-seeded SMU Mustangs on Saturday.
