Big East Women’s Championship Pairings Announced

 

The Big East Women’s Championship pairing have been announced with the local Villanova Wildcats opening on Friday, March 2 as the #10 seed.  The Wildcats take the XL Center floor in Hartford, CT. at 6 PM against the #15 seed Pirates of Seton Hall.  Villanova owns a victory over Seton Hall during the regular season.

Notre Dame enters the tournament as the top seed.  The Irish take the floor for the first time on Sunday, March 4.  St. John’s enters as the 2 seed, while the host team Connecticut is the 3 seed.  Georgetown is the 4 seed.  Each of the teams listed above are the recipients of the double bye.

Game 1 #12 Syracuse vs. #13 Providence

Game 2 #9 USF vs. #16 Pittsburgh

Game 3 #10 Villanova vs. #15 Seton Hall

Game 4 #11 Cincinnati vs. #14 Marquette

Saturday, March 3

Game 5 #5 West Virginia vs. Game 1 Winner

Game 6 #8 DePaul vs. Game 2 Winner

Game 7 #7 Louisville vs. Game 3 Winner – Villanova / Seton Hall

Game 8 #6 Rutgers vs. Game 4 Winner

Sunday, March 4

Game 9 #4 Georgetown vs. Game 5 Winner

Game 10 #1 Notre Dame vs. Game 6 Winner

Game 11 #2 St. John’s vs. Game 7 Winner

Game 12 #3 UConn vs. Game 8 Winner

Monday, March 5 – Semifinals at 6 and 8 PM
